What this site collects, and what we do with it.
Last updated: 10/3/2026
Ruh Industries LLC is a solo executive advisory practice. This site is a brochure, not an application. It has no account system, no login, no shopping cart, and no contact form. The short version is that we collect very little, we do not sell anything about you, and the few things we do hold come from you choosing to email us or book a call.
What we collect
If you email us. The email links on this site open your own mail program. Nothing is submitted through the website itself. Once you send the message we hold what you chose to put in it: your name, your email address, and whatever you wrote.
If you book a call. Scheduling runs on Google Calendar's appointment booking. When you book, you give Google your name, your email address, and anything you add in the notes, and that information reaches us as a calendar invitation. Google processes it under its own terms and privacy policy, which apply to that booking page rather than to this site.
When you simply read the site. This site is hosted by Squarespace, which keeps ordinary server records: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. Squarespace also sets three cookies of its own. One, named crumb, is a security measure against cross-site request forgery. The other two, ss_cvr and ss_cvt, count visits so we can see roughly how many people read a page. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google's font servers see the IP address of the device requesting them.
What we do not collect
No advertising or marketing pixels. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no LinkedIn insight tag, no heatmap or session-recording tool, no advertising network of any kind. We do not run retargeting, we do not build visitor profiles, and we do not combine what you do here with information from anywhere else. There is no newsletter and no mailing list, so nothing is collected for one.
Why we hold it
To answer you, to hold the call you booked, to carry out an engagement if one follows, and to keep ordinary business records of who we have dealt with. We do not use what you send us for anything you would not expect from the message you sent.
Who else sees it
Three kinds of organization, and no others. Our website host, Squarespace, which operates the site and its server records. Google, which provides our email and calendar and therefore stores the messages and bookings you send us. And, where an engagement is under way, the professional advisers and service providers a business normally uses, such as an accountant or an attorney, who are bound to keep what they see confidential.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not trade, rent, or otherwise make it available to anyone for their own marketing. We would disclose information if the law required it of us, and we would tell you unless we were prohibited from doing so.
How long we keep it
Correspondence and engagement records are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and then for the period our professional, tax, and legal obligations require, which is typically several years. Squarespace's server records and cookie data follow Squarespace's own retention schedule, which we do not control. If you ask us to delete what we hold about you and nothing obliges us to keep it, we will.
Seeing, correcting, or deleting what we hold
Write to ben@ruhindustries.com and ask. You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within thirty days. We extend this to anyone who asks, wherever you live, rather than only to residents of states whose laws happen to reach a practice this size.
You can also refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. The two counting cookies make no difference to how the site works. Blocking the security cookie may stop some parts of the site functioning as intended.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is still no agreed standard for what a site should do when it receives one. We do not track visitors across other websites in the first place, so there is nothing for the signal to switch off, and we do not respond to it differently.
Third-party tracking across other sites
We allow no third party to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across different websites through this site. The cookies described above are Squarespace's own and are read only here.
Security
We keep administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a practice of this size and to the limited information we hold, including access controls on the systems that store correspondence. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If information we hold were compromised, we would notify those affected as the law requires.
Email is not a secure channel
Ordinary email is not encrypted end to end and can be intercepted or misdirected. Please do not send confidential company information, personal financial details, or anything sensitive by email before we have agreed a secure way to exchange it. Nothing you send before an engagement is signed is treated as confidential in the legal sense, which is set out further on the Legal and Disclaimers page.
Children
This site is meant for business audiences. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
We operate from the United States and the information described here is stored and handled there. If you are writing to us from another country, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy law differs from your own.
Changes to this page
If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Where a change is material, we will say what changed in a short note on this page for at least thirty days, so a revision is visible rather than silent.
